Alfonso Novo

Documentary photographer and Board member of the Theodora Foundation Spain

Alfonso Novo is a Spanish documentary photographer renowned for his deeply human and moving perspective. A multiple award winner in Spain and Europe, his work explores the dignity, fragility and strength of people, particularly in sensitive contexts such as hospitalised children. His collaboration with the Theodora Foundation has enabled him to empathetically capture the light and resilience at the heart of hospitals, revealing stories that are often invisible but deeply moving.

«Accompanying these exceptional artists in hospitals has revealed realities that are not always visible from the outside: the fragility and strength of patients, and the importance of bringing light to places of worry and pain.»
