Call for applications Scholarships
HCIM 2026
Scholarships are available for interested practitioners working as artists and/or cultural managers in healthcare clowning organisations to attend the Healthcare Clowning International Meeting 2026 in Lausanne.

Please carefully read the information below before submitting your application.
Scholarships include
- The 3 days’ pass to attend the Healthcare Clowning International Meeting 2026.
- The scholarships also cover partially or fully the following expenses:

- Round trip airfare
- Accommodation
- Dinner on the 12th of March 2026
- Basic travel insurance
- Any other costs incurred in connection with the conference, such as local transportation, daily allowances and/or visa costs, are not covered by the scholarship.
- Successful candidates are responsible for their own visa application process. Nevertheless, Theodora Foundation as the HCIM 2026 organiser will provide you with an official letter of invitation.
- Successful candidates will be required to present a final report about their experiences and lessons learned after attending the conference to Theodora Foundation.
Eligibility
- Artists and/or managers and/or back office team members working with healthcare clown organisations with limited financial resources. Priority will be given to organisations from Africa, Asia and Central and/or South America.
- Priority will be given to applicants who have submitted a proposal. However, this criterion is not absolute.
- A maximum of two applications per organisation are eligible for scholarship.
Please note that in case two scholarships should be awarded to the same organisation, this would always include one artistic and one administrative position.
How to apply
- All applications must be submitted via e-mail to [email protected] with the subject Scholarship program.
- The deadline for applications is November 15th 2025.
- All applications must be submitted in English.
Please note that the command of English will be necessary throughout the conference, as no translation will be provided. - To apply for a scholarship, please submit:

- A letter of motivation (max. 1 page), describing:
- Your work and experience in healthcare clowning.
- Your interest and expectations in attending the conference.
- What do you plan to achieve with your participation?
- How do you plan to share your experiences and lessons learned with your peers back at home?
- Your Curriculum Vitae.
- A cost estimation for your participation to the conference; please also mention if you have applied for other grants and other possibilities of funding your participation.
- Institutional documents of the organisation that you are representing or that you work with
- A letter of motivation (max. 1 page), describing:

- Latest annual activity report and financial statement
- Statutes of your organisation
- Certificate of registration in public registries and any accreditation
- Certificate of tax exemption (if available)

Applicants will be notified of the scholarship decision by mid-December 2025.
