Dr. Cyril Sahyoun, MD, PhD, is dual American and Swiss board-certified in General Pediatrics and Pediatric Emergency Medicine. He trained at Georgetown University, Columbia University’s Children’s Hospital of New York Presbyterian, and Boston Children’s Hospital, developing expertise in procedural sedation, anxiolysis, and analgesia for children with autism, phobias, chronic conditions, and developmental delays.
After serving as an attending physician and head of medical student education in Pediatric Emergency Medicine in New York, Dr. Sahyoun moved to Geneva, where he is advancing Pediatric Emergency Medicine and Procedural Sedation and Analgesia at the Children’s Hospital of Geneva (HUG). He also leads the Confort and Procedural Sedation Program, focusing on safe and compassionate care.
Dr. Sahyoun has authored influential reviews, book chapters, and surveys in pediatric sedation, and recently developed a family-centered sedation program for children with autism and neurodevelopmental delays. Beyond medicine, he enjoys baking deeply fermented sourdough breads for his family and their dog, Chicha.
