More about Fluctus

Kevin Blaser was born in 1990 in Lugano, Switzerland. In 2015 he obtained a Bachelor in Physical Theatre from the Dimitri Academy. Working across theatre and film, he has taken part in numerous projects and collaborated with leading figures of the Swiss artistic scene, including Mummenschanz, Volker Hesse and Niccolo Castelli.
In 2018 he founded Fluctus and created the performances Swing (with Faustino Blanchut) and L’incatenato (with Tito Bosia). In 2019 and 2020, together with Sarah Lerch, he directed productions for Theaterzirkus Wunderplunder (BE). In 2021 he performed in KISS! by Collettivo Treppenwitz and in Kunscht Cabaret for the Origen Festival (GR), while further developing his work in contemporary dramaturgy with Luminanza.
In 2023 he reunited with Faustino Blanchut to create I’m not a hero, winner of PREMIO 2023, which premiered in April 2024 with Fluctus. Between 2024 and 2025, he directed Endlich for Theater FULU (BE), took part in Dance Invasion by Poetic Punkers (Belgium), collaborated with the Lugano Buskers Festival as consultant and artist, and presented Fluctus’ work in Switzerland, Italy, France, Germany and Spain.
Faustino Blanchut is a Swiss, French and Argentine artist. Hybridisation — cultural, linguistic and disciplinary — lies at the heart of his approach to the performing arts.
He trained at the Dimitri Academy, where he was awarded a Migros Culture Percentage scholarship, received support from the Pierino Ambrosoli Foundation and won the Thalen Thesis Award for best diploma project.
After completing his studies, he worked as a performer with a wide range of European theatre and dance companies, including Compagnia Tiziana Arnaboldi (Switzerland), Balletto Civile / Michela Lucenti (Italy), directors Volker Hesse and Livio Andreina, as well as Teatro della Tosse in Genoa.
In 2022, together with Masha Dimitri, he co-directed and choreographed Contre vents et marées for Cirque Monti, and became co–artistic director of Cie Fluctus alongside Kevin Blaser.
Since 2016, together with Natalia Vallebona, he has been co–artistic director of Poetic Punkers, the Lobo Festival and the creative space Congelo (Brussels).
From 2025 onwards, he collaborates with Ultima Vez, the company of choreographer Wim Vandekeybus, for the revival of What the Body Does Not Remember.
Founded in 2018 by Kevin Blaser, Fluctus is a Swiss physical theatre company that draws on the raw core of theatre, movement and performance to create contemporary works that remain open and accessible.
Kevin and Faustino, the company’s artistic directors and performers, first met during their training at the Dimitri Academy. From that very first encounter, a strong human and artistic connection emerged, leading them to collaborate closely and to create the performances Swing (2019) and I’m not a hero (2024). In 2022, Faustino officially joined Kevin as co–artistic director, strengthening a shared vision and commitment to experimentation that remains engaging rather than elitist.
Fluctus’ productions have been presented in Switzerland, Italy, Spain, Germany and France.
