Prof. Andrea Samson is professor in psychology at UniDistance Suisse. In her research, she has a strong focus on humor, positive emotions, and emotion regulation in children, adolescents and adults with typical and atypical development.
She earned her PhD in Psychology from the University of Fribourg and completed a postdoctoral fellowship at Stanford University (2010–2015). Recipient of the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF) Ambizione grant, she conducted research at the Swiss Center for Affective Sciences (CISA) at the University of Geneva. From 2018 to 2023, she was an SNSF Professor at the Institute of Special Education at the University of Fribourg before being appointed Professor of Psychology at UniDistance Suisse in 2020.
