Code of Conduct
As hosts, we are committed to making HCIM 2026 a welcoming, inclusive, and respectful experience for everyone. We want to foster an atmosphere that promotes diversity and mutual respect, free from any form of discrimination, harassment, or political advocacy. Creating such an environment is a shared responsibility of all participants.
This Code of Conduct is inspired by the values of the international Healthcare clowning community as well as by the guidelines of our host venue, Swiss Tech Convention Center in Lausanne.
By registering for HCIM 2026, all attendees agree to the following principles:
- Identification
Please wear your conference badge at all times within the venue. The badge is personal and non-transferable.
- Positive and constructive participation
All participants are expected to contribute to a friendly atmosphere, respect differing opinions and actively enable others to engage in discussions. - Respectful and professional exchange
Keynotes, workshops, and dialogues must always be conducted respectfully and remain focused on the subject matter. Advocacy for personal agendas, private concerns, or political views and claims is not appropriate.
While participants retain their right to free speech outside the meeting, they are bound by the HCIM 2026 Code of Conduct within the context of the participation at HCIM 2026. Promoting, carrying into, or wearing, on any event premises, any political, religious (other than personal religious objects), or racist material, banners, signs, symbols, objects, or messages is prohibited. - Zero tolerance for discrimination or harassment
Actions, statements, jokes, or behavior that exclude, insult, or target individuals based on personal characteristics — including ethnicity, age, disability, gender identity, nationality, physical appearance, religion, or sexual orientation — will not be tolerated. - Safe and supportive environment
Disruptive behavior, intimidation, or harassment of any kind is unacceptable. If you experience or witness behavior that makes you or others, feel unsafe or unwelcome, please remind the person of this Code of Conduct or report the issue to the conference organizing committee.
The organizers reserve the right to take appropriate action, including exclusion from the event, against anyone who disregards these principles or uses the conference for political messaging.
